Attarintiki Daredi took the top seat this year with a share of Rs. 75 crores. The next film in the top hits list collected around Rs. 52 crore. This shows how gigantically AD performed and how did it dominate the box office. This film once again brought back Pawan Kalyan to the top of the heap.
SVSC as expected did well at the box office. Family audiences lapped up this film. But we have to admit that this film didn’t perform to its potential. Prior to release people expected this film to break the record of Magadheera. But finally it ended up in Rs. 50 crore club.
Mirchi is the third biggest hit of the year with Rs. 48 crore. This film released in February and did this feat. Imagine if it was released in good season like Sankranthi or summer.
Nayak is at four with Rs. 46 crore share. This film was pitted against craziest film SVSC for Sankranthi. No one really thought that it would go this far. But this film has shown the power of a commercial film yet again.
Badshah was one of the most expected films of the year. Everyone expected this film to be in the top 5 hits of all time. But Badshah only managed to be in the top 5 hits of the year. This film gave a glimpse of NTR’s stamina and we are sure that he will prove his true potential in the days to come.
Balupu is at sixth place with a share of Rs. 28 crore. The gap between the top stars and others can be seen here. Hit film of superstars are earning more than 45 crore share and whereas other films are still under Rs. 30 crore mark.
Gunde Jaari Gallantayyinde attained blockbuster status among the small/medium budget films. This film has collected a share of Rs. 22 crore from the theatricals. Not a mean feat for a film with a hero like Nitin.
Tadakha is at eight with a share of Rs. 19 crores. Naga Chaitanya and Sunil pulled this remake to hit status during summer. This film has put a smile on Chaitanya’s face again. His last two films were major flops.
Prema Katha Chitram surprised everyone with wonderful collections. It started off slowly and went on to become one of the major hits of the year with a share of over Rs. 10 crore.
At 10 is Venkatadri Express, a small film that surpassed everyone’s expectations. The film is still drawing decent collections. This film gave the much needed break to young actor Sundeep Kishan.
Other hits of the year are Swamy Rara, Antaku Mundu Aa Tarvatha and Uyyala Jampala. All these small films were lapped up by the audience. Films like Adda, Potugadu and Sahasam earned profits in few areas and incurred minor losses in some regions.
