Best of 2013: Five Wonders of Tollywood


Big ticket films usually does well at the box office due to star power. Average content is enough for a superstar to pull off a hit. But for small budget films it is not that easy to click at the box office. Sometimes adult content may come in handy, but that wouldn’t take you over the line every time. Ultimately good content is a must for any small film to do well.There are no sideways to success for a small film. That is why the success of small films is the most cherished. In 2013 few small films did very well at the box office. Some of them went on to collect huge collections to the surprise of everyone. We have shortlisted five movies that have put smile on the buyers face.
Nitin’s Gunde Jaari Gallantayyinde takes the cake with a share of over Rs. 20 crores. This is exceptional for a medium budget film without a superstar in it. Prema Katha Chitram, ghost directed by Maruthi is another surprise hit of the year. It was made with a budget of Rs. 2 crore and collected over Rs. 10 crore share.
Venkatadri Express is another film that surpassed all the expectations. Everyone that invested money in this film made four times profit out of it. Swamy Rara too did well at the box office. It has collected more than Rs. 8 crore share as per trade reports. Uyyala Jampala will be the last hit of 2013. This film got glowing reviews prior to release and took off to a brilliant start at the box office. Word of mouth is very positive and this small film will surely go places.
